Once upon a time, I saw a brand new iMac in an elementary school computer lab in grade 2, and haven’t been the same since. A small red icon with an ‘f’ on it might as well have been a giant red button saying “Press”. This application was Macromedia Flash, and it changed my life. Mix this in with online pre-Youtube communities full of animations and games, and you got yourself a digital artist birthed from the bowels of virtual creativity. Since then, I’ve been glued to Adobe Animate, and all it’s Creative Cloud cousins, towards creating characters, stories, lessons, ads, mockups, and even prototypes with Actionscript until HTML5 burst onto the scene. It’s my bread and butter, my salt and pepper, my Spongebob and Patrick. It’s served me well throughout the years and as a foundation to the rest of my interests and abilities. I hope this Flash Fever I’ve been under all these years, is as contagious to your interests as it was for mine, with the best of those results below for your viewing.
